Module 4: The Importance of Prevention in Cancer Survivorship: Empowering Survivors to Live Well

Instructions

Participants will sequentially go through the 1-hour module, which includes a pre-assessment, audio presentation from the patient/survivor perspective (4 min.), a webinar presentation on the PCP’s role in providing post-treatment care to cancer survivors focused on prevention and wellness (25 min.), a webinar presentation on guideline-supported recommendations for prevention and health promotion (33 min.), and a post-assessment. Completion of all module activities is required to receive CE. Please see E-Series Overview for more information.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this module, participants should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of the PCP’s role in providing survivorship care focused on prevention, wellness, and evidence-based guidelines for screening.
  2. Provide guideline-supported recommendations for secondary prevention to cancer survivors regarding sunscreen, diet, obesity, exercise, alcohol, and tobacco.
